Chapter 6

For the past few years, Firentia had been in a state of bliss that made her worry-free. She was someone who always got what she deserved. In fact, most people who knew her called her a princess. In the eyes of others, it was completely different. Her seemingly perfect life filled her with an unfathomable amount of happiness. Firentia had it all. Her beauty and intelligence left those who saw her in awe. Until now, nothing had changed. On this bright morning, she was walking through the city during the semester break. Firentia visited several stores and was seen shopping for a lot of things. With a happy face, she continued shopping until she had a lot of things to bring. Currently, she was with Mona. Apparently, she was the same as Firentia.
“Oh my gosh, there are so many,” said Mona.
“Wow, you also shopped a lot, it turns out.”
“These are all ingredients for BBQ.”
“Ah, yeah, I forgot. Oh yeah, has Elena bought the rest yet?”
"I don't know. We'll find out if we ask him."
“Okay, wait a minute. I'll text him.”
"Yes, please."
"Already."
"Very quickly."
“Does it have to take so long?”
“Not really. Let's go.”
"Too much."
The two of them then left there and headed to a previously agreed upon location. Not long after, Elena received a text message from Firentia and she immediately replied to it. Likewise, Firentia, after receiving Elena's reply, immediately notified Mona and they continued their journey to the location. Without further ado, they finally arrived at their destination. This time, the three of them would relax in a green park and have a BBQ. Although this was a new atmosphere, they already felt familiar with it.
“Hey, you two.”
“Oh, Elena. Come here,” said Firentia.
“You shop a lot.”
“This is enough for three.”
“Yes. This is enough for the three of us,” Mona replied casually.
“Have you been waiting for me for a long time?”
“No, we just arrived too.”
“Yes, calm down.”
“Thank goodness. I thought you guys would be annoyed because of the long wait.”
"How is that possible, because it took us a long time to shop."
“Okay, now we're going to start baking.”
"Yeah."
“Hopefully it doesn't rain.”
“No way. It’s so bright,” Mona replied.
"Yes. I also checked the weather forecast earlier, and it turns out it won't rain," said Elena.
"Hopefully so."
“Don’t think about it, let’s just eat and enjoy the new atmosphere.”
"So true."
“It's been a long time since I felt like this.”
“Yes. Me too. How about you, Firentia?”
"Yeah, I experienced the same thing. Because I was busy preparing a lot of things beforehand."
"Oh, I see."
"Can."
They then continued eating. They joked and laughed, apparently, today was indeed a wonderful day. They all looked so happy and carefree. The beautiful smiles on every face reflected a life filled with warmth. However, deep down, Mona felt otherwise. Her seemingly happy vision was merely a mirage. Now they were done and ready to go home. The togetherness they had created was truly worth remembering forever.
"It's getting late. I have to go home first," said Firentia.
"How about we go to karaoke? Or a club?" Mona said.
"Are you in trouble?" Elena asked Mona
“What? Of course not, I just want to have fun.”
"Then I'm sorry, I can't come," replied Firentia.
“It's okay. Just relax.”
“Okay, let's go there,” said Elena.
Elena and Firentia then went straight to the club. Meanwhile, Firentia apparently met someone at a restaurant not far from where she had been before, before returning home. There, she met a woman who appeared to be a socialite. Her striking appearance drew a few glances from the crowd. Now, the person was right in front of Firentia, and it turned out they knew each other.
"It's been a long time since I saw you aunty. How are you?" Firentia asked politely to the woman in front of her.
“Of course I feel fine. How about you? Are there any problems on campus?”
"I'm fine too. Unfortunately, there are no problems at all, and in fact, I'm happy to have such a good friend."
“Really? You're lucky.”
“Yes. I'm very happy too. What brings you to see me?”
“There are some things I need to discuss with you.”
"Can?"
“Actually, I’ve wanted to tell you this for a long time, but I’ve been busy, so I can only meet you now.”
“I see, you must be very tired.”
"Not really."
“Then, what do you want to say?”
Firentia's aunt then said something that immediately shocked her. She fell silent. Meanwhile, her aunt took a sip of the tea on the table. Still struggling to believe it all, Firentia looked back at her aunt and said something.
“What did you just say?” he said, trembling and covered in cold sweat.
"You'll get used to it. So don't worry. Everything's been arranged accordingly."
“Huh, why is it like that? What do you want?”
“That’s enough talk. I have a meeting to attend. See you later.”
Firentia, who was still there, felt so annoyed that she clenched her right fist. Behind the happiness she had just enjoyed, it seemed that disaster had befallen her, and now she was on the verge of despair. Some time later, Firentia was already at her house and was now heading to her room. At almost the same time. Currently, at a club, Elena and Mona were enjoying their time. They were both seen drinking alcohol in front of the bartender who was mixing drinks. The sound of the DJ's music made their conversation feel a little inaudible to each other.
“It’s so noisy in here,” Elena said.
“Are you moving?”
"Is there a quiet place? It's impossible, so let's just stay here."
“Okay. Oh yeah, what do you think about that news?”
“What news?”
“You didn't open the forums? Oh my, you're missing out.”
“I haven’t been opening it much lately. What’s wrong?”
“You probably won't believe it.”
“What? Don’t make me curious.”
Mona quickly blurted it out, and now she was speechless with shock. Her face couldn't lie. The two of them were still in the club late into the night. Suddenly, Elena topped up her drink and finished it.
